Our last morning in Dakhla we are taking it easy. We are preparing psycologically to leave. Tomorrow morning at 6 am we will go to the airport to fly to Casablanca.
We walk around a bit, we sit in the pool, we enjoy the nice food and in the afternoon we decide to return one last time at the ocean. We know the place, we know how to get there from the inexistent paths. When we arrive, it's different than the last time, it's a little bit foggy and the smell of rotten fish is everywhere. We realise that there is a guy who put out six huge crabs to dry in the sand and they stink. We see plastic everywhere, bottles, fishing nets, all kinds of recipients... It's really not the paradise we think it is.
We try to get away from this smell and we go near the water. The tide is low and there are broken seashells everywhere as well aw wonderful big shells. The last gifts of the ocean before we leave.
I took this last video to try and capture the ocean spirit in front of me. Listen to the waves and the seagulls. This part of the trip is almost over, we are getting ready for the rest...When we went back to the hotel, A wonderful full moon was rising behind the hills. It's time to leave this paradise and go off to the next adventure. But first we'll celebrate with moroccan beer and a wonderful meal.6 am a car comes to pick us up, with a little brakfast, juice, an apple and bread. Dakhla Evasion are taking care of us until the last minute! It is still dark and there is fog, so my last hope to see the road to the airport is lost. It's ok, maybe next time.
